I recognize the place, hiked there 4 years ago and went for a dive into one of the snow-melt water streams that time. Illegally done as it was on the US side of the border. Trees are awesome.

You may have found a badly chewed up cedar tree on the route, beavers are hungry and terrorize the local junior trees.
