Default Mt. Stephan (Field)

Hey guys,

I'm new to the forum, but have been climbing for over 15 years now and have summited 5 or 6 2,500 + peaks in the Rockies, but have yet to make a 3000 m one.

I was looking at Mt. Stephan in particular. There seems to be a video on Youtube which appears to make it look quite exposed at the summit, but that's not what I'm particularly worried about. How is the hike itself? It's supposed to be a scramble, but some people have told me to rope up with a 7mm and carry a ice axe.

If anyone has done the hike could you also mentioned the time it took you, any particular hazards, and the gear you used? I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I think it is called Stephen, not Stephan.

It is difficult rated Kane scramble. There are many references online. Check out:

If you wait a day or two, I'm in the midst of updating my report with more photos / descriptions / maps etc.
