Default Willmore- Wildhay ford

Hi everybody,

Can anyone tell me about the current conditions of the Mountain Trail from Rock Lake to the Eagle's Nest Cabin? Specifically the Wildhay ford? Should we detour the ford via Jackson Creek?

I'm hoping to head up there within a week with an 8 year old and an 11 year old. It's their first overnight trip so I'd like to make it a good experience!

Looks like a dropping trend on the graphs but seasonally high right now, of course. Regardless, there is a deep channel on the opposite bank that will always prove tricky. We scouted the Jackson Creek trail this summer and found it pretty nice but lots of active bear signs so be noisy if you take it...should be no problem with kids along ;-) Best advice for parking is the equestrian staging area and walk 1km as the assigned parking at the trailhead was just a roughed-out patch by the road. Good luck and please post a TR when back home, I love that place!
