That is awesome! That would be much better than the mudcoaster it currently takes to get down Prairie Mountain. Hike up, coaster down.

Since I was a I kid I've thought it would be great to have water slides down the entire hight of a mountain, right back to the car. After seeing this I'm rethinking. That looked very sketchy.

I wonder if they make you wear a helmet..?

The Wadsworth Constant applies

As is mentioned in related videos, it's built with the grade and construction and all to be safe at the top speed it is capable of going. Brakes doubtless make it more comfortable a run, but it is set up to be safe without.
I don't think assuming proper construction is assuming complete safety. I am simply expecting it to be built to the same standards as other similar constructions. In this case, built so that it won't fly off, and built so that it can safely go whatever speed it will go if left unattended.

Last year I travelled to Mongolia and China for work, on our last day in Beijing we went to the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. They have a toboggan that you can ride down to the bottom. We were there when the chairlift opened and enjoyed some solitude on the wall as we were the only people around (it was also November/US Thanksgiving so not a lot of tourists) and then took the toboggan down. Normally they apparently have people who sit at dangerous corners and yell at people to slow down but we were so early (we were there for about 45 mins since we had to catch a flight) that there wasn't anyone.

My boss was going too slowly and I caught up to him and had to ram him from behind a few times before he realized that the brake was for wimps.

It probably has brakes, just makes it seem more daring to say it doesn't or that they weren't used.

Most terrifying thing like this I've done is a waterslide at Baldi hotsprings in Costa Rica at the Arenal volcano. Actually got air a couple times and was so banged up after one run I felt mildly concussed. Of course we went for the biggest one right out of the gate. I asked my boys, teenagers at the time, if they wanted to go again - they declined.

I hope a large part of their budget is hazard tree removal. They must have a cart with brakes or other way of checking for daily branch drop too. I'd be less worried about flying off than speeding without brakes towards a nice, stiff conifer branch.
