Default BC Parks fining climbers at Crest Creek

Hello fellow climbers. Just wanted to share this info that's going on over on Vancouver island at Crest Creek. Local climbing crag thats located in Strathcona park. I'm sure many of you have heard of or been there.

Long story short BC parks is kicking everyone out of the climbers camp that has been in place for over 25 years. They will not hold talks with the local climbing club the Heathens to work out this issue. BC parks and DFO have shown up to kick all climbers out of the camp, put a stop on all new route development and have fined climbers up to 1500$ in fines with more coming today.

I feel its very important that all climbers around BC know what's going on within our parks and how the BC parks system is failing. Please show your support by sharing what's going on at Crest Creek. Or if your on the island please come show your support at Crest creek at a friendly sit in that's going on all week and this coming weekend. They people sitting in right now are getting hammered with fines instead of Bc parks working out a solution. We need your support. Thanks for reading.
I was up there on the long weekend and didn't see any sign of confrontation. The Heathens were a pretty chill group and frankly the quality of development and trail maintenance at Crest blows both Murrin and the Smoke Bluffs out of the water.

Don't have any further info at this time.
