Default Chasing Sunrise

Not sure if any of you have encountered Chasing Sunrise, but they organize group hikes that start in the dark and go up to a vantage point for sunrise. http://chasingsunri.se/

I'm of two minds.. For me, it's awesome because I wouldn't be comfortable finding trails alone in the dark, and sunrise from First Peak at Seymour is pretty stellar! I took my fit 11 year old last week and he loved it.

But, it is a ridiculously large group, you're plodding along right on someone's heels both up and down, and I just don't really fit their demographic of beautiful 20 something instagram-posing people.

Anyways, I mainly wanted to share here so that anyone who found it intriguing could join, and the rest of you could avoid the 400 people (!) coming DOWN Seymour after an event! The looks on the faces of the poor people I passed coming down..

That's interesting. I've never heard of such group before however it does look like too large of a group. I always head off myself in the dark before sunrise. I guess that's why I prefer backpacking because you are already there on location.
