I spent 10 days in Vietnam in second half of January ’20, as part of Indochina Tour. Country is rich with turbulent history and many interesting sites. Iconic Ha Long Bay was disappointment because of cloudy weather (if you are photographer, you need to go there in October), but everything else was simply majestic. I was lucky that my visit coincided with Chinese New Year as everything was so much more colorful and overall atmosphere very cheerful.
Hue, with Tu Duc Necropolis, Thien Mu Pagoda and Presidential Palace blew me away. Hoi An old town with many restaurants and Chinese Temples was rich and vibrant, and finally Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon was nothing I expected; it is a modern metropolis with level of pollution below Southeast Asia average. War Remnants Museum, Reunification Palace and Downtown Waterfront by Bitexco Tower are a must see!
