Cleaning USB cable with water.
After storing my iPhone USB cable with my clothes in my luggage during a trip, I realized that a shirt transfered colour to the iPhone USB cable - weird for a 100% cotton button up. The USB cable now has blue streaks. I tried to clean it with a cloth with no luck. I used some wet alchohol wipes with no luck too. As a result, I decided to wash off the dampness/scent from the alchohol wipes with running water on a small cable wire portion for about 30 seconds only. By using running water on the rubber cable sections of the USB cable, did I risk damaging the USB cable? Note: the end connectors did not get wet all and the blue streaks never came out.
