Default Blurb Book from 2009

I scrambled / climbed 46 summits in 2009 and just finished a book on it. Check it out! Full size works best.

Great project, Vern, the photography is stellar! This is something I've been thinking of doing for quite some time, so it's cool to see what you've accomplished here. Also, 46 summits, that's a great year in the mountains [8D]

Great job, I have been following your work on Zenfolio and your site, you actually made me considered Calgary as a potential home.

LOL - thanks Adrien! Calgary is a great place to live if you enjoy climbing! BC is better for skiing unfortunately...

Nice Book!

Just one typo to point out incase you didn't know, Mt.Fay is marked as mt.quadra...no big deal though

Congrats on 46 peaks

That's a real neat project-- wish I had the time and know-how to make one of those. Great pics. But I guess for $120.00 a pop, nobody will complain about "vested interests" or promoting for the purpose of making $$$.

lol - yeah there's actually a few typos apparently. I even proof read it a couple of times! I spelled 'National' wrong too!

At least nobody will accuse me of being a pro right?

Nah - I'm not expecting to sell to anyone else, I just bought a copy for myself and thought it was a neat way to share the book without actually sharing it. :-)

If you make a book for yourself and buy it yourself it's $95 for the highest quality paper / book combo right now. For 160 pages of 12"x12" pictures that's pretty cheap compared to printing them and putting them in an album!

[8D] Great way to share & remember your adventures! This will endure long after what we presently know as the internet has morphed into something we can't even imagine now.

That is super cool. Great job with the layout -- and the photos are stunning.

How is the quality of the blurb books? Their prices seem more reasonable than a number of other online photobook companies.

Thanks! I'll update this thread once I actually get the physical book. The prices are pretty good, which is exactly why I'm trying them. I ordered the highest quality paper / largest format and it was $95 with a discount. There's no way you could buy 150 12"x12" photos for $95 on premium paper.

Just as an update, I got the book in the mail today. Really impressed with the quality. The only thing I would do different next time is make the shots a bit lighter - the shadows are pretty dark in most of the photos. I re-sized to 300ppi and that worked very well.
