This is my favourite flower photo; it was taken on Flower Ridge (of all places) in Strathcona Park in the summer.

Anyone one know what this is? I'm terrible at identification, I've heard Pojan and McKinnon is a good book to own? Other recommendations?

Indian Paintbrush I believe

Just noticed you already had the answer [:I]

That is a fortunate timing of a "stone-crop" in bloom. Lucky you ! [ did you notice any fragrance ? ].

I wish I could remember the fragrance! Thank you for identifying it - I was quite thrilled to come across it, and now I know that I was fortunate to see one.

From Kokanee Glacier park last summer. One of my best hikes ever, evading thunderstorms!

I've not seen this before, though I think it looks more like a type of saxifrage to me. Stonecrop is usually yellow.

Some Flickr/Google rummaging suggested Tolmie's Saxifrage though I'll have to check Pojar & Mackinnon:

Here's a pic of my favourite flower and my favourite flower pic, both from a trip up to the Marriott Basin/Mt Rohr in July 2009.

Keep those cheery flower pics coming
