If anyone is still looking, the LX3 is on sale at Camera Canada for $565 (and no PST too!). I have done business in the past with them and they are honest and reliable.

The LX3 takes on my newest photographic subject!

Just got this camera as well, and have played around with it a bit on some b/c ski trips. Especially like the wide angle lens combined with the 16:9 aspect ratio for landscape photography (see first photo).

DOH!

I had my LX3 for 2 weeks and what did I do? I dropped it today during a rock climb and smashed it to bits.

It only dropped a meter onto angled scree and slid down a few meters but it's dead. I won't be able to claim warranty work because it's pretty obvious it was dropped due to its missing chunks of plastic.

Expensive lesson to use a hand strap on my next camera. [B)]

I got the little brother to the LX 3 - the FX 35 Panasonic. Just fyi the LCD screen on the FX35 and LX3 are interchangeable. If you bust the LCD's you can buy them from Hong Kong via ebay for 30$. They are $150 direct from Panasonic/
