Default The essence of camping on Elk Mtn

It was just too nice a night to pass up on...

Incidentally, this was more of a "poser" shot as this spot wasn't where I actually camped (too sloped) but it was the best location for getting the city lights in the background.
The fire consists of using an aluminum pie plate and a few duraflame mini logs which produce excellent light. I don't normally wear a cotton flannel shirt either while camping, but it helped set more of that "traditional" look.

Love the pic even though it is a "poser".

Cheers!

So BG was that a first try shot?
Or did you have to run over press the timer, run back, squat by the fire a few times?

Mmm hmmm...riiiight. You brought it all the way up there just so you can wear it for the photo right? LMAO...nice try.

Wicked photo.

great shot BG, I'm sure it will be a good seller!

there is so much good trickery to good photography - if the shot is not posed already, then it could be post-processed. often if not always a great deal of work goes into that 'spontaneous' shot

Haha! already drank it!
I took this photo with a buyer client of mine in mind but was also something I wanted to experiment with. It's tough sitting perfectly still for 10 second exposures though.
