Default Photo of the Month - August Submissions

This month's theme is summits.

A summit could be the pic of a summit itself, a picture from a summit, a pic of you or your friends on a summit, or other interpretations that might fit.

REGULAR NOTES:

Looking for your submissions for the photo of the month. You can be honored as the outdoor photographer for the month. It doesn't matter if it is digital or SLR, as long as you can submit it in an electronic form. Format should be 640x480, JPG, any quality level you like, max file size 512K.

Each person can only submit one photo for that particular month. Submissions can continue until the 20th. Submissions are made by replying to this thread and including your photo in the reply. Also include some info as to where the photo was taken, etc.

People will then have an opportunity to vote on the picture from the 21st of the month until the end of that month. The photo with the most votes can be set as the photo of the month. On the 21st of this month, send your vote to [email protected].

Here's Edge Peak from the Northern Ear of Golden Ears taken at sunset during an overnighter in the old shelter.

Summit of Mount Ware in the foothills west of Turner Valley, Alberta.

Here is my entry:

This picture was taking looking northeast from Crown Mtn. showing the Camel, Burwell/Coliseum in the right background and Cathedral in the left background. Taken on a fine fall Saturday in November.

This is a shot of the approach to Black Tusk. It was a beautiful fall day, the first weekend after 09 you-know-what. Seemed like everyone wanted to get out of town.

The east end of the Waddington Range. Taken on a 10 day ski mountaineering camp in the Waddington area of the Coast Range.

Oops, I forgot to say this is my entry. And, what a great idea!

This is my entry, it was shot after a thunder storm. The summit is Mount Robson shot from Emperor Camp on the way to Burg lake.

May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds.

Ooh, nice ones!

Here is my submission...

If I recall correctly, I took this photo outside of Moab, Utah from around the canyon basin. I got the sunset light just as the glow peaked, and was very lucky to have the near-full moon very low to the horizon at the same time. No filters were used for this shot.

Very nice pictures!
I'm going to have to clock in more alpine treks, but it looks cold up there.

Billdcat, is that Ansel Adams standing in the background? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle> Great colours!

Here's a picture of the Cheam Mountain Ridge in the Skagit prov. park, taken from Jones (Wahleach) Lake.

Not a picture of myself on a summit, nor a picture of one of my friends on a summit, but my shoe on a summit:

Footloose?
