Default Beware the forest stalker

This fellow allowed me to get far closer than any other I've ever come across. I hope I have the ID correct as many barn owl pics I see on the net show far more white mixed into the feathers than this fellow.

Did you reward him or her with a nice little mouse (fresh from the printer ) as a model fee?

hahaa.. I think I must look like a Monster to them when I've got my zoom lens trained on them.

Wildnerness_seeker was with me when I took this shot and she's promised not to divulge the information of exactly where to find all these birds. Quite an amazing spot in winter as in only two afternoons of paddling this island chain I found as follows...

Bald Eagle
Trumpeter Swan
Peregrine Falcon
Short Eared Owl
Barn Owl
Great Horned Owl
Red Tail Hawk
Bufflehead duck

And these are just the birds I can name, I found many more that I can not ID.

Cant feed these fellows Dru, they may look nice from a distance but when you approach... they pull out their laser guns strapped beneath their wings.

I think it is! According to my field guide:

Barn Owl: A pale owl with dark eyes in a heart-shaped face. Rusty-brown above; underparts vary from white to cinnamon. Darkest birds are always females, palest birds male.

So, you DO have to post a picture of a girl to make the top 10
