I read an article on here to use the program autostich, I can't believe my eyes! Makes pan photos in a breese, i can't believe how simple it is, simply pick the photos and it does it all for you.

I don't think it could be any easier... And my pictures were not only crooked, but also 700+KB before, and and took the 2 large filesize photos together into smaller 50-100KB file size! Damn!
And it still has reasonably good quality. I am going to start doing them type shots more often, and become more steady to make it nicer, less overlaps, more coverage. With the smaller filesize too it makes it a snap for emailing, and a delight for those on dialup.

I know this is not new news to most, but I am sure some in here may not of seen the potential and ease this program has to offer even the simple home cameraman.

The photos are still large and pretty clear, you'll notice the clouds and sun rays in the slesse pic are mended without being able to tell easily.

Although when uploaded on the clubtread site it does shrink the view which is why I provided the links. Just the compression it does is what stuns me, and keeps the quality rather high. I have used this type of software before but this one seems to be idiot proof.

It IS an awesome product, isn't it?
I stitched this one from 8 individual frames, leaving plenty of overlap.



The only "trouble" I've had with it is with light intensities; they can vary from one frame to the next (in bright conditions) and AUTOSTITCH does nothing to compensate.
Also with vertical shots, you have to have more overlap than with horizontals...I don't know why.

Incredible, wish I could of choosen white as the background rather than black , but I am not complaining! I realize I need to crop it anyways but still it would be cool.

My digital camera has an option for horizontal vs vertical, I did those with the pan / horizontal function, I guess that is much easier , bigger better jobs / fewer seems up the middle.

I agree, Autostitch is an excellent program. AcesHigh, you seem quite taken with its compression ability. A little program that I use a lot for compressing photos is provided for windows under their ‘power toys' selection called “image resizer”. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/d...powertoys.mspx scroll down to the right file.

Once installed it adds a selection to the right click menu to ‘resize pictures'. All you do is highlite the photos in your browser (select as many as you like), right click, select ‘resize pictures', select the options you want like the size and if you want to replace the originals (very self explanatory) a brief moment of the computer doing its processing and presto, multiple pictures resized. Can't compare with using Photoshop etc for quality but just for resizing so you can email etc. it is fast and painless.

That page has some pretty cool little add-ons, thanks for that.

It's quite the program. Now if only they'd write it for other operating systems!!!

Thanks a bunch Sodbuster, for the link to “image resizer”, I will give it a try, I already use a wicked program Tweak UI on the same url, it adds a Tweak Control into your control panel, very nice...


And about Autostich, what this has done now, is made me want to take a dozen pictures everytime I see something I want to take a pic of, wanting to get the entire view/feeling in one pic! LOL
