Elk were exterminated from Tennessee, and were only re-introduced about a decade ago.

Six lucky Tennesseans, one a teen, were selected this year by lottery for a chance to bag an elk, of course not in the National Park.

The elk there symbolizes something much more than wildlife, must have not been an easy decision to put that elk down.
