Wee Heavy is basically just another name for a Scotch Ale, so if that's a style you like than keep your eyes open for scotch ales and you'll likely enjoy those as well
Cool, thanks! I thought it was just the name of that specific brew..

It's nice on its own when you don't want something too heavy, and it goes well with chicken, or beef that doesn't really go with wine, like hamburgers, or meatlover's pizza.

If by PG you mean Prince George (as opposed to Point Grey) then just check the BC Liquor stores.
Of the four on that list I've only tried Surrey Central Red Racer and I like this IPA which has won some awards. I've found it in every BC Liquor store I've been in, in Vancouver area. At the moment it's available in 157 stores incl. 2 in PG. And the one in Mackenzie.

In the US my favorite IPA is Stone. But there's a lot more I have yet to try.

Prince George actually has a Signiture BC Liquor store, and they have a pretty good selection. It's where I get my Chimay Blue Cap and Red Racer IPA..

I mentioned Red Racer because earlier you said you hadn't tried it.

Had this bad boy the other day on an Iago hike. At one litre it's kind of a big commitment, but it's a decent IPA.

Sweeeeeet..

At first glance I thought the snowshoes were some hi-tech beer bottle protection device..

Currently have Townsite Brewing's Charleston Belgian Tripel in the kegerator. It's got some kick! Usually run Tin Hat IPA, or Shiny Penny when it's available.

On tonight's tasting menu are the two latest single hop beers from Persephone.

For the record these were both "meh" in my opinion. I always find SMaSH (Single Malt and Single Hop) beers to be a little boring and this wasn't an exception.

I was in at Persephone last week. I liked the red ale. They only had four on tap that day. By the way, if you're in the Powell River area at all this month, Townsite Brewing's growler program benefits the Knucklehead Winter Recreation Society for the month of March. They are raising money to build another cabin up higher near the Sentinal. Hope all goes well.

Coal Harbour Brewing 311 Helles Lager, a light, Munich-style beer that's amazingly drinkable and refreshing. They disappear quickly on a hot day or post-exercise.

:Tonight's tasting menu, Smoked Porters.

Review/Advice: If drinking these together drink the Stone one first.
Stone Smoked Porter - chocolate and coffee and a hint of smoke. Quite nice really, 3.5/5 stars
Persephone Smoked Porter - holy palate wrecker Batman. Smoky, very smoky and the smoky lingers. I really like it and prefer it over Stone's. 4.5/5 stars.
