Default Nat. Geo. "bears of fear island"

Wow I'm just watching a National Geographic on the grizzly bears on Fear Island in Alaska...seeing two big males fight is rather intimidating. I really hope those guys were using a huge telephoto lenses!

Those giant bears are so scary I usually change the channel if they're fighting, lol. Truth is, I used to have nightmares about bears chasing me on a weekly basis (!). Eek!

I grew up on that island in SE Alaska, with those big Brownies. Fascinating animals to watch, from a distance. We lived in float houses and when the salmon were running and the tide was out the Bears would saunter right outside our windows getting from one creek to another. We got some very close views of those Grizzlies! I never had heard of it being called Fear Island until I saw the Nat Geo Wild documentary last night, it was Admiralty Island to us. We lived in Eliza Harbor on the southern tip of Admiralty. Bear, deer, seals and seagulls our only "pets"! I miss it ~
