Movie - "A Walk in the Woods"
It looks like Robert Redford will star in the movie version of "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson. For those of you have not read this now hiking classic, it is a memoir of the authors adventure hiking the Appalachian Trail. When he set out to do this, he was overweight and had little or no experience hiking or backpacking. I think his sense of humour kept him alive.;)
Article here.
We might have to make this a CT event!

Interesting!! I have trouble imagining that this would translate well into a movie, especially since the appeal of the book (to me) was Bill Bryson's unique and witty way with words, but....I will have to go see it anyway!!

I'll have to keep an eye out for it when it's completed. [8D]
I think Redford could pull it off, if it has a 'witty narrative' done by him. Sort of like in A River Runs Through It, or, ... Autumn(something or other), starring Brad Pitt, where a chance close encounter at a young age with a grizzly bear, binds their lives together.
I could see it working out alright. [^]

I wanna know who's going to play Katz?

I've read and enjoyed his book...I've hiked over 1,000 miles on Applachian trail too, so I have something in common with him.

There could [u]only</u> be one person that could pull this off.

I have to agree with that totally.

OMG! Hiker! Too funny! I am still laughing. My wife came in from the garage where she's chaning my oil and said. Wazzup? cause of all the noise.

I LOVE that book. I walked 220 miles of the AT and threw my hiking boots in the garbage and vowed to NEVER hike again....too funny!
Let's see how Redford handles this.
