Default Cartmell & Klaudt Mar.08/21 Snowshoe

Monday, first day of the week and it was clear with brilliant sunshine and blue skies. Ingrid's choice to head over to Hemlock Valley Skii Resort, and snowshoe up Cartmell and then Klaudt, for a double summit day of 1000 meters combined cumulative elevation gain, 6 km to Klaudt then a 1 or 1.5 km off branch road upto Klaudt, estimate mileage about 15 km return.

I drove up to the Sasquatch Inn (Harrison Mills) and met Ingrid there, got a ride up with here to the resort area, the road higher up is a mess with numerous potholes and holes in the pavement, broken in places. We parked in a largely empty lot, from where we start our snowshoe trip. From this lot we had to snowshoe down a steep embakment to a lower road (groomed) to follow up, which led to an access road which we simply followed up to a T-junction, first go left up to Cartmell (north), and then back down to go right (south) to Klaudt. We summitted Cartmell, but was short a few 100 meters of Klaudt, as very steep slopes in ravine to cross over were unstable in the warm afternoon sun. .. Ingrid came back on Friday to finish this one, while I headed over to Iago with a few others. We basically started snowshoeing after 9:00 am, and returned close to 5:30 pm; including a lunch stop on Cartmell, and a nice break on Klaudt.

Here is a copp of alltrails map I used to show our routes in "orange-red", mountains labeled.

Nice views! Have to head up there for a snowshoe or ski. I skied there a few times at the resort when I was younger.

I also liked aerial views of Harrison lake

You have a lot of dust specs on your camera sensor (black dots of photos)

I was trying to clean the lens of the camera, it seemed to be partially helpful.

this really annoys me... the next set of photos got less, but still some.

It is not the lens
It is the sensor. You need to get camera cleaned professionally. You can try yourself, but you better know what you are doing
