Locatioin map showing Table Mountain in relatioin to Manning Park:
My partner Ingrid, and I wanted to go out for a rain-free hike this Sunday (Oct.18); and we had to drive nearly 2 hours to reach the trail head from home. Although hike was largely a dry one, we did experience some face-stinging ice pellets near the summit. Freezing level forecast was 2100 meters for the day which proved accurate, at 2268 meters the little precip was frozen together with strong winds; and nearly storm force along one of the corners of the mountain on our way back. After reflecting on this, next time may just do a rainy-day hike near home.
A hike no matter the conditons is a welcome reprieve from a week in a stuffy office.

Heading up the road and to Placer Lake.
1 km up from lake, snow depth increased, so put on microspikes to steady from slipping on slush.
Out of the forest into the first open meadow area
On the Col between the summit area and the last subsummit before it.
There are also Golden Larches on this mountain
Bleak and Windy Summit...
Best views all day - looking towards the west..
Young Larch Trees...
Freshly dug up earth by some animal; hours old. Looks like the hunter was after the underground moles or gophers ?
