Default Kelly Peak to Nordheim Peak #1 & 2 Sept.20/20

I had my eye on repeating this hike without snow; my first hike to Nordheim at June 10. We went just to the first peak then; so this time I desired hike to the slightly higher Nordheim Peak (#2) to the last one out. The last hike is referenced right here: https://forums.clubtread.com/27-brit...e-10-20-a.html
Trail to this can be followed, at Allison Pass, right across from the works yard.

Stats on this was 22 km return with 1500 meters net cumulative elevation gain; 9 hours to include a long lunch and all other stops....

Three friends; Ziff, Ling, and Ingrid joined me for this trip. started out near 8;30 am and came back around 5:30 pm...

To start with, walked up the road which is now blocked by blowdown of large dead pine; takes you to the ancient abandoned TV Tower. from there continue on a trail to Kelly's summit and a lookout bluff just to its west. The path is flagged, and large part followed a path of stumps... path cleared of trees about 2 meters wide.. wherever trees or clusters posed an obstacle. Past the lookout bluff, is a nice meadow on plateau.. and then follow west allow two kobs of the ridge, then on up top of the ridge following all the way to the end. Found a single young golden larch, the only individual of this species over the entire ridge system of 10 - 11 kilometers length. Where did it come from ?

Google earth image of the ridge: view from its south side (west - east orientated ridge).

Nice larch you found! Wish there were more of them around here (other than Frosty).

Thank you . I under stand Mt. Frosty larches are the western most of the species in B.C. This golden larch might be the west most of the west.
