Default Jumbo Pass - Sept 12/20

We camped at Kokanee Creek for 5 nights and did some nice hiking. This one stood out! It took 2:15 hours to drive to the trailhead at the end of Glacier Creek FSR.
We were going to go here 10 years ago but got rained out.
We were surprised to see 5 other vehicles at the trailhead. It’s only 4.5 Km to the pass, but quite steep. Peekaboo views of Horseshoe & Macbeth Glaciers on the way up.
On arrival at the pass we see a golden Larch with the eastern mountains in the background. The last time we came here was from the east, earlier in the year with a much better flower show.
This was the last day without smoke. By the time we got to our campsite it was getting quite smoky

Nice! Surprised the larches aren't turning a little bit more. Still looks pretty green there. Hoping this smoke clears!

I have never been here, but sure looks nice. Larches are still green in the Rockies too; hopefully smoke clears in week or two when they will be in their prime

It is looking pretty promising, I think! The colours near Wilcox Pass I would say were at their peak over the weekend. Never seen colours like that before. It was very nice. No larches though.
