Gloria lookout june 18/20
 

This day the plan was to hike up to Archibald, starting with a 4 wheel drive jaunt up to the Paraglider Launch area. Could not find our way to where the access road, not where I remember it from 2012. Asked a local and he indicated only quads could go up there, and he would not encourage us to drive up there with Camerons vehicle. So after a brief discussion, four or us decided on Gloria Lookout for Plan B. The trail is about 14 km return, with the lookout in and out back 11.6 km return with cumulative elevation gain of 1260 meters.
We found it a well designed and built trail, quite steep as I heard, we hiked to the top, to the lookout and enjoyed lunch at the lookout with the glorious view. 2-3/4 hours up and 2 hours down with ¾ hour stop at the lookout. The tough hike up the steep trail was well worth the views. Our next plan here would to be the Gloria – Elk Traverse.
