This trip was undertaken to satisfy some longtime curiousity about where this trail headed, what conditions were like, and to experience the lower and forested trail plus see how far we could get. Ingrid (Norgie) joined me for this outing. This mountain is crossed by a network of mountain bike trails which are also used for hiking. The principal objective: the Duck Farm Loop starts low and finishes less han half way up the mountain. From its upper corner, one can take the biking trails and connect with others (named) all the way up. There are many branch offs, and one could get lost if not careful. For the day with the ups and downs, we experienced at least 900 meters net elevation gain, perhaps 1000 over a return trip of 19 to 20 km. Although forecast called for rain, we enjoyed a day mainly of sunshine with thin hazy clouds.
