Default Mount Loki

Mt Loki is a great hike/scramble in the west Kootenays just north of Riondel on the east side of Koot Lake. It's one of the higher peaks in its neighborhood (9100 ft) and makes for great views. The trailhead is accessed via a logging road. The trail through the forest is good. Once at the base of the peak there is around 1500ft of scrambling (depending how you define that...). I went with Thomas during the last week of July.

That leaning towers group looks formidable, but exciting too. There doesn't seem to be any end of possibilities around Kootenay Lake, worth leaving the valley for.
