Default Dog Creek Dome

Dog Creek Dome is a rather obscure but officially named summit on the Cariboo Plateau, near the little village at Dog Creek and on the east side of the Fraser from the famous Gang Ranch. I had planned a route from Dog Creek Rd of around 12km roundtrip, but some 4x4ing on bumpy old ranch tracks cut my distance by over half, making for a nice short ramble. It's an easy hike up its south-west ridge. I could see Mt Bowman and some of the Shulaps peaks, as well as more distant Chilcoton peaks. A nice outing and off the beaten track.

There she be!

Having grown up around farms, I decided to do some cow-tipping... Prime rib anyone?

The track looks like it belongs to a cougar. Wolf tracks usually have visible claw marks.

Guess I could have looked it up before I posted it-- fieldguide and internet would seem to say cougar as well.

Hi, I was wondering where the access point from Dog Creek Road is. This is practically in my back yard and no one I know has heard of it!

Thanks
