Just passing this on , last week lots of maintenance was done to both trails to Hope Summit and Wells Peak (both from same parking lot) got cleared, flagged, and ready for everyone to hike!
To access the Hope mnt FSR, take the first right about 500 meters after u start on the #3 hwy
The fsr up is in good shape but u need at least a stock 4x4 . It's about 45-60 min drive up to the top parking lot (8km) with about 200 small cross ditches But worth the slow drive up with amazing views at the top of the summit!!
Both hikes are about
2.5-3 hours hike up from the top parking lot.
If u haven't done it, put it on your to do list!
If you've already hiked it , it's clear and ready!

Nice! What's the elevation gain if you don't mind me asking?

EDIT. Never mind, found it 600-700 meters for both. Thanks!

The view is a little better from Hope Mtn summit, but the hike isn't as aesthetic to start because of the old giant clearcut you wander through. Wells is not as great a viewpoint, but the trail is more in old growth forest and less in 30 yr old plantation

Thanks to the trail crew for a fantastic job clearing these trails! There was five people on the trail. I forgot how steep the last bit was!
A mostly cloudy day, so the views were intermittent.
