Beautiful area, and got in some very nice shots. Hiked along that bike trail, and often thought what is like to cycle over a lot of loose rocks.

Hiking is what keeps you young of mind and heart. When the going gets tough, the tough get going..............

how long is the road from gate to tower? I have wanted to maybe even hike up it one day.

From the gate to the Cell Tower is about 12 km, with ~1100m of net elevation gain.

Thanks Sean. That sounds like a manageable logging road slog. No worse than the Elfin Lakes trail.

To the best of my knowledge, dirt bikers (with the proper liability insurance) are allowed on the road (only) as far as the upper gate at least. All of the signage on the approach (and there is lots) mentions fines and charges if ORVs are traveling off "established" roads and trails in sensitive ecosystems.

As the road passed though a small corner of the park right after BT creek, I have heard some say that motorized vehicles are prohibited (and there is an old sign to that effect there), however one used to be able to drive to the upper gate with no worries of legal reprisals before they put the anti-snowmobiler gate in at the 5.5Km mark.

Also, Telus drives right to the towers.....

Msulkers would have the lowdown, he's more involved in duscussions regarding access locally. I know he's been party to a discussion about the lower gate...
