The Hurley is in good shape at the moment, turned off onto Ault Creek rd, just after the sign to Green Mountain. There are a few waterbars before the bridge and road gets a little bushy after that, where the road ends is fairly bumpy not great for camping, the road is probably the best area to put a tent.
Followed a faint trail thru the cutblock and into the trees, close to the creek it heads up the slope there is some flagging. Close to the lake the trail forked we chose the right, it led us to some boulders, we headed up zigzaged thur some trees, whit the rock on our left we come to an opening and climb a steep slope, a bit of scrambling and were find ourselves at the bottom of the ridge.
Getting up onto the ridge.
Looking at the route up, can't quite see the peak.
Looking down at the first lake, gun Lake dark blue in the distance.
Soon starts to get steep.
Photo time, with the upper lakes in the background.
Lots of scrambling now.
Getting past one of the many bumps on the way.
Looking at the route ahead.
Crossing some loose stuff.
Still a good bit to do.
Looking for a way up the final section.
Great views form the top.
On the peak.
Summit cairn on the peak, another bump a few yards away seemed fractionally higher.
Down the gully (book route) quite easy really.
The crux at the bottom of the gully.
The second lake looks a great place to camp, there's a nice sandy shore. We headed down with the creek on our left, at the bottom we crossed another creek from the upper lake the trail then petered out close to the first lake, we bushwhacked around to our trail up crossing another creek on the way.
