Default Weinhold,Taillefer,Prospector Peak October 03-04,2015

We(Dean,Ben,Steven,Me) left Vancouver pretty early, just in case if the road will be blocked.
The road was pretty much the same as few months back but at 20% of the road where usually used to be 2 big boulders that you drive by them without any problems, there was a small boulder that was blocking the road.
Took us maybe 30 minutes or more to move it slowly,so I can squeeze by.

We parked just before the creek crossing where there is a small parking area, after what we took the road that goes up to Phelix Peak.
When I did Phelix I followed the trail that starts pretty much at the end of the road, lots of flagging ,and it was good,so I was hoping that the valley will be the same, but I was wrong.
As soon as the flagging ended, our problems just started.
Very soft ground, lots of mud, very thick alders, but it was good so Steve could actually experience the BC bushwacking.

AT some point we crossed the creek and start going up towards the lakes near Taillefer Peak.
It was still pretty bad bushwacking and at some point we found a area with some burned trees that we followed for a bit.
At the lake we found a good spot for our tents, had some snacks and start going towards the ridge going to Weinhold.

Pretty easy ridge, around mid point there is a tricky section that we couldn't find a way down, and we had to go back and traverse it after what we went up and kept going on the ridge.

Didn't spent too much time on the summit since we had a long way back, and on our way back we tried to climb that tower that we had problems before, and it was ok to go up,lots of exposure ,you might be able to climb it down with a sling.

The next day our plan was to go to Prospector peaks,it's a pretty easy way ,in most of the place we just traversed the ridge ,even going up to Prospector Peak we stayed more on the south side traversing.

Just when you get closer to the summit of Prospector Peaks there is a scramble section, not too bad, just very loose rocks.

Spent some time on the summit and went down to our camp from where we had a pleasant heavy bushwacking trail.

Cool to see a report from a seldom visited area. Looks like good times.

I did Taillefer from the other side and also ran into that tower, i decided to drop down and look for another way to ascend the ridge.
