Not much new i can add to the other TR's already posted
The stats seem to vary a bit, we clocked in at just over 2700m elevation and just under the 30km mark from the main road.
Started off at 6.20am headlamps on for the first half hour or so, quite warm only needed a tee shirt, cooled down when we got close to the falls, the trail is excellent and well marked to the moraine area.
Sun started to turn to fast moving cloud and fog but we could see the sun breaking thru here and there, so i figured it would be clear on the ridge.
Near the end of the boulders it starts to clear.
As we headed up to the lakes it started to fog up bad at the lakes and the markers just disappeared as we headed up to the grassy area, slowed us down a bit but we hit the boulders and found cairns, as we got to the end of the boulders me missed the markers going up to the right, we headed straight up then found an easy route up to our left to get onto the ridge eventually we found the markers again.
The clouds clear from Tantalus, perfect timing!
The wind picked up and we stopped to put another layer on, Met a couple of guys coming down from the peak double checked the
route with them, they mentioned the crux and the exposure,
Still a bit to do.
Thru this gap to the crux.
Michelle makes light work of the crux while i quickly take some snaps.
a few minutes later and were on top.
Jimmy jimmy somewhere here, nice looking peaks.
Found the marked trail from the ridge to the boulders, route finding was easy as the fog had cleared, pleasant trail thru the trees, got back to the turn off to Sigurd and could see the river far below, maybe 400m or so still to descent, a long slog, back to the car with plenty of daylight, which was good as my headlamp had come off the strap as i carried it around my neck.
12 hours and 20 mins in total.
