Default Adventures in Elfinland - Sep. 4-6, 2015

I've deleted all my content. I can't accept Vertical Scope's (the site owner) terms of service and can't stand their use of advertising, particularly the viglink service which inserts links into my posts without my permission. I'm sad to leave the CT community and thank all of those who have contributed over the years.

Excellent report Patrick; fully enjoyed it and read every word. A great adventure, and awesome to show off our beautiful area to mother in law. I feel same as you, annoyed with those people who are so inconsiderate and make noise well into the night, not caring about others.

Nice pics!

Sorry you had to deal with those mouth-breathing ignoramuses..

Hope it didn't put too much of a crimper on the trip..

I'm resolved now to get as far away from civilization as I can when I go hiking. Or at least as far as is practicible to lug a six-pack.. But now they have powdered booze, so we'll see what good that little invention will do...

Ha ha, I've been up to elfin several times and after the first shelter stay, I've always packed a tent. So worth it.

Way to earn points with the mom in law.

Sweet trip Patrick. And a good description of your side trip on the last day - I haven't done those yet. I'm guessing the date in the title should be Sept 4-6, not August??

Rule is don't stay at the cabin on weekends during the school season as it is now a college party spot. Week days only or if you are lucky in shoulder season and there is shitty snow and rain. Me and my sister had the entire cabin to ourselves once that way.
