I really enjoy seeing all the contrast of the summer photo's of the areas that some of us winter tourers travel though.

Found myself back at Downton Creek. Got a good prospective of the route up Tessitura along with the usual half decent views. Hazy to the northeast though.

A nice pair of Setons at rear.

The map got deleted during CT server changeover and I can't add it to OP due to over 25 pictures so I'm posting it here as someone was asking about it.

Thanks for that, Simon. I'll be heading up there later this season and that map is a sweet resource.

Rohr area isn't accessed from Downton creek, the turn off is 2-3km on the left past Joffre, just before the shed thing.

Day 2 of this trip was Downton.

Downton Creek FSR is about 67km from the Currie town site junction (where you turn right). It's near the Cottonwood Recreation Site area. Go left and over Cayoosh Creek, 1km in is a gravel yard on the right.

I was contemplating hiking the ridge from Rohr to Hurley Silver Mine. Camping along there somewhere. Watching the traffic move along below.
Looks moderate? Meadows?

Mitch S. wrote this in a TR he posted on Bivouac:

Difficulty: Some large talus to be covered; occasional steep sections where loose rocks could be an issue.
Access:

This traverse is a fine route under suitable conditions in any season. Because of the aspect and topography, there are seasonal concerns. In winter and spring, snow stability is more of an issue; in summer and fall, snowfields, glaciers, and talus slopes must be crossed, convectional storms are not uncommon, and there is the added bonus of wildlife (bears) in the area. The majority of the 28km route is above treeline, with most of it on exposed ridgetops. Views are excellent. Very little of the route is on trails, with most of it being cross country or on narrow goat paths through friable rock ridges. As well, steep meadows and heather slopes can become challenging if rain occurs, and the route travels into remote enough terrain to demand attention to safety issues. This route can be tied into at least two of the Melvin Creek routes described in this encyclopedia.
