Default Mount Garibaldi via Brohm Ridge (May 16-17)

I'm officially cursing this website. I logged in, spent 3 HRS writing an awesome trip report, hit the submit button, and it decided to wipe out my entire post, delete all the images, and took me to the log in screen. So now I'm sad to report, you'll get pictures only.

ClubTread needs to go back to the old version. It's making all the regulars stop posting or to write diluted reports. I'm pretty angry right now, I lost three hours of time and I'm not re-writing all that. It was a grand tale of rain, hail, getting caught in a lightening storm, snow, white out conditions, falling avalanches, house sized seracs falling, stumbling in snow thigh deep, and adventure. Too bad.

I will at least re-iterate current conditions.

- Yellow gate is open
- Road is snow free to the yellow gate
- Snow pack is VERY slushy even with snow shoes
- Glacier has a base of 3 meters of snow pack
- All crevasses are filled in including most of the bergshrund

Sorry guys I'm truly saddened not offering you more details. If you'd like to get GPS tracks or more, please message me.

Total Distance: 23.6km
Elevation Gain: 1900m

Yeah, snow conditions have not settled down yet. I was glad to have snowshoes for my trip on Thursday. Congratulations on the trip if not the trip report.

I usually cut and paste text into Word or Notepad as I write it or before adding pictures just in case things go sideways. I do find the whole TR process somewhat convoluted these days but I have had reports vanish when nearly done on the old CT too.

Looks like real adventure; congrats on making it to the top!

Re wiped-out TR - I understand frustration. It happened to most of us. Think Mr B just had same issue with Grand Canyon report. Simon' tip about cut&paste is excellent; same can be achieved by simply submitting report in batches, then editing your own post. I will try to make a video how to do it all very fast and painlessly & post on youtube - including inline thumbs that expand into full pics, old CT style (it is really just a mouse click, no tags necessary as I though in the beginning).

Yep I have mine vanished one time before. Thankfully it wasn't a long one but frustrating enough such that I did not re-write. My computer does weird things to me.

Writing it in Word and paste is a good suggestion.

Nicely done, admittedly a little sad not to see original report. About to attempt one myself

Tick TIck TIck well done in getting this one crossed off your list and many things about this trip you'll be sure to remember long after.

When doing my reports I just highlight my text and click COPY every so many paragraphs incase something happens, then I can just open up a new browser and click paste if it does.

I have had trip report text and pictures disappear before and that was on the old version of CT, Not this one.

So if I have a long and complex writeup, cut and paste to word as back pack is highly recommended.

I had some frusteration with posting photos on my last report, had to do that 3 times which wasted 1-1/2 hours.

That's too bad about the lost report. I still enjoyed the abbreviated version. One of my complaints about the new forum is that it is search unfriendly (for beta etc.).
