Default Spearhead Traverse

The route is in great shape. Skied it on May 10-11, carried glacier gear but skied the whole trip unroped. The notch below Overlord is barely skiable, a short rappel might be needed soon. Steep N faces had 10-20 cm powder. Elsewhere ski penetration was minimal. Great corn skiing off Whirlwind all the way to Cowboy Ridge. Surprisingly few parties out given the conditions. Go midweek and you will have the whole place for yourself.

Only one more year of hut-free traverse!

Some really spectacular shots there. Full winter conditions.. Sometimes I tire of all the white, and is good to get on a trail in the green..

The backcountry pass is now only $35 plus tax, much better deal than the regular rate.
