Default Nice Day on Knight - Sept 3 2012

Nice temps, nice breeze & no bugs, what more could you want! I started at 7:00 AM, walking along the old Airplane Creek FSR. The dew had me totally soaked from the waist down within 1 km, but the scenery was nice! Some pics of my destination,

After crossing Airplane creek, I soon came to the steep trail heading to the alpine. I have been told that it was steep, but I was still surprised how long the steepness lasted. The good news is it doesn't take long to reach the alpine.

Shortly I'm heading up this alpine floral gully to see Knight peak close up.

Looking south I see Baby Munday.

Now the nice easy stroll to the top. My summit shot and the peak from a distance.

A few more pics from the top.

The return trip was surprisingly more difficult! The giant steps with loose gravel or wet roots required all of my attention.
I was really happy to get up there!

Stu

Fabulous, you got Knight on a beautiful sunny day.

Been up there once in the fog; and would like to try again. And then there is Still; still on my agenda.

DEW? whuts that! Even out earthworms wear chaps.
Wow! that shot of the flowery meadow with the grassy green, steep slopes and the mountains in the backdrop is way nice!! I have to get back to Canada!![^] Doesn't look like a "stroll" more like a hike. Thanks for my green fix for the week. Heading down to some sand dunes and a mt overlooking them, tomorrow. World away. thanks again.

Can you give me an idea of how far one can drive to the TH in a 2WD car and how far the walk is in after?

Shortly after the beginning of the Airplane Creek FSR it gets very steep and rocky. From here it is about 4 km to the TH.
