Default Blueberries and 2 dudes on a windy knob

Today we took a steep 4by4 road up the trail head for baldy /church and windy knob,we started the hike at 11:15 and it was steep for the first part and steep for teh next part until we got in the trees. We did trail maintnanc moving branches from the trail.it was a nice trail when we were in the trees not as steep as the strting point. we got to the view point of windy knob and turned left almost backwards going to the real summit. the trail disapperes in the trees but my dad found it. it took us just about 40 minites to hike to the top . wen we started to head down we looked at the flowers and lots of blue berries and we ate lots but kept going it was cold and windy and bad visibilty we got back to the bottom and still ate more blueberries which were real good. on the drive back we did lots of road maintnanec. i would recomend this hike to kids 8 and up becaus it was not to long and the views would be good my dad said.

Good on you and your dad for doing more work on that trail and on the road. That trail is where I began backpacking back in high school.

It was a great short hike it was just too bad there were no views today. Matthew does want to head back as he enjoyed the short gruntthere were still lots of blueberries to munch on and even the salmon berries were still coming out.

I sure would like to get up there too.... While the blueberries are still good, and before the winds chill and spoil them. The views otherwise are not so important.

Not a true Canadian till you got huckleberry stains all over yourself .
Consider yourself initiated !

[ p.s. a word of safety advice to your dad , chainsaws shouldn't be used for small-brush clearing , they can snag and back-kick . Hand tools are safer ]

Looks like The Chilliwack Valley area is the place for blueberries this year. I haven't seen too many on my Sea To Sky trips as of late.

When are you guys going to try for Liumchen Mountain?

Thanks Cambium the chainsaw was used on the masses of alder and not brush,Matthew was in charge of small brush clearing with a pair of snips.

Simon with all the trail work we managed this year im sure it will be next spring before we hit Liumchen mountain as we got a bit slowed down trying to get the road and trail cleared this year but we look forward to it
