We wanted to take our new Denali's for a spin so we decided on Falls Lake. We'd never been there before but with the help of CT and 103 hikes we were on our way.



The sunshine was great and the snowshoeing was easy. I had to bribe Hikergirl with the promise of pie at Home in Hope.



As we break through the trees and see the expanse of snow Hikergirl says "where's the lake". We had some lunch in the sun and then headed back.



At the summer parking lot we came across three snow caves and a few collapsed igloos.





Yes we stopped at Home but we ate too much and didn't save room for pie. Next time.

Looks like fun! I always wondered what Falls Lake was like as I've only seen the highway signs for it.

How could you not leave room for pie?? Also good for pies is the Hope Drive-in and Restaurant, across the street from the Home restaurant. They always have a vast selection of freshly baked pies too.

I took a first-timer to Falls on Sunday. It's a great little treck.
