Oh oh. Simon gets a girlfriend and suddenly his elevation stats are all shot to hell.

Still taking nice pics, though.
It's a matter of personal priorities and life style balance I am sure.

Nice one.

It is the perfect time of year to get a shot of west coast magic with your feet on solid ground.

In the last couple of months I've hardly even looked at pictures of mountains, let alone set foot in them. I'm grateful that they haven't been accumulating record amounts of fluffy powder.

Great photos.

Shrubhugger, I may have looked at a picture or two of mountains, but I haven't been all the way up one for a while. This time of year always seems to find me all hiked out. If I don't do it for a while and start to miss it then it becomes more enjoyable again. Snowshoeing for me and skiing for you coming soon I hope.

Moses, Ellen and I have been together over three years now (and she's done a few good sized hikes with me)and I've been somewhat successful at juggling the hiking and relationship along with extra work at times.

As Karl says above, you got to get a good balance.

Beautiful! The last time we were there in storm season, we got just that...rain, wind, no power. It is nice to see the area when it is calm and you can enjoy the sunset. Thanks for the pics!

Wow! Three years already? Good on ya. I'm still struggling to find balance in my life. Perhaps once the kids are grown and gone. *sigh*

We don't have kids yet, but when we do I'm sure I'll be hiking less and working on the balance.

Here's a few more pictures.

1 and 2. MacKenzie Beach sunset (Thursday).
3. Long Beach.
4. Sunset at Crystal Cove (Wednesday)
5. Tonquin Beach in Tofino.
