Default Rohr Lake and Mtn

We went up to Rohr lake for a dreaded bag night and scrambled up the peak the following morning. Weather was beautiful, and hot. Lots of bugs everywhere, and the meadows are very wet. We took the boulder field instead of the usual trail that leads straight up to the lake from the meadow to avoid the mud and creek.

Many thanks to Harpa and to our trip partners Darren and Danielle for making this a fun and relaxing weekend in the alpine. Danielle deserves special mention because this was her first alpine backpacking trip, and first peak in the bag Hopefully by now she is recovering from all the mozzie bites.

I took almost 200 photos(!), here are some that I like:

A great weekend in the mountains

It sure is a great area. This time of year, everything is in colour. A flower lovers paradise.

At first glance I thought you had taken a picture of a cow. [:I]

I love this view. from the subalpine meadow, which route, did you take up? the rocky route straight ahead of where the trail leaves the forest, or the muddy route/ trail to the right? still lots of snow up there?

I agree with Farmer, that's a nice shot. I've only seen the place covered in snow.

'Bout time we saw you posting a new TR BF.

Your first few sentences don't sell the place well. The pictures save it.
