Mike Lake Ramble
 

Mayhem, Tucker and myself did a loop around Mike Lake in Golden Ears Park today. This is another step in my recovery from a ruptured achilles tendon..... Today was the first day the swelling in my foot has subsided to the point that I could get a hiking boot on for the first time in months. Life's little victories eh?

Anyway, we had a great time with some fresh snow falling. There are a couple small trees down on the trail, but if I can get up and over them anybody can. Here's a few photos from a relaxing stomp in the snow..... Hopefully in a couple weeks I can progress to Buntzen Lake or Minnekhada or the like. :D

Good to see the gate to the park is open. We hiked in a week ago from UBC forest. When we were there the entire lake had a slushy ice covering...no water was visible. Doesn't take long to melt out when the temps go up.
Glad you are slowly getting back out into nature.

i was almost going to head up there today but instead went for something a bit easier because of my ankle... :(
