Default New Grouse mountain owners enjoy clear cutting. China Minsheng Investment.

I was up at grouse and was pretty annoyed to see some really nice trees clear cut. The area below the start of the BCMC.

The new owners Shanghai-based China Minsheng Investment Group clearly represent the future.

Is everything for sale? The Vancouver-based McLaughlin family sold out for big bucks. Thanks guys. Enjoy your money.

Not surprising. I raised my concern here: https://forums.clubtread.com/8-britis...tml#post823193 but no one wanted to listen.

if you're not hiking you should be skiing

There is a sign in the parking lot that MetroVan will be doing work on the debris chutes and needs to cut trees for that, I wonder if it is for that. I believe this is MV land.

Yeah it's Metro Vancouver doing the chopping, not Grouse. There have also been a number of very large trees chopped down about 50m in on the Grind trail.

One good thing about the new ownership is the snazzy new water fountains/ bottle refill stations. I was pleased to see that change!
The previous owners also owned a bottled water company and the lack of bottle fill stations at the top and bottom seemed pretty tacky to me.
