Default Anyone experienced FCFS in Golden ears park?

I am planning to camp in Golden ears park on 19th Aug 2017(sat).

But I could not make a reservation on the day so

I found that there is First-Come-First-Serve sites.

however, the Canada day when I visit there, they told me the FCFS site is already booked and I cannot stay there.

Is that true? or is the site only booked on Canada day??

Anyone know some information of it?

thank you!

First come first served means exactly what it says. X sites are available. Y is number of campers. As long as X > Y, you get a site. When Y > X, you don't get a site.

Canada Day is probably the busiest time in whole year because everyone wants to go camping just like you did, this is why Y > X very early. It is impossible to predict because it depends on demand. General rule is that your chances are better outside of weekend/holiday AND early in the day.

Probably if you go to one if the motor home rental sites and book a motor home, they will have a reservation for a BC park that comes with the rental.

Sorry a little rant there. I've never camped there so I don't know. Just go there early and try your luck!
