Hmmm, my observations have been that the exact opposite is the case.
Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) is a theory based on evidence. Religion tends to be based on faith.
It is AGW deniers that ask us to accept their positions based on faith rather than evidence:
-They want us to have faith that the planet isn't warming even though the evidence is otherwise.
- They want us to have faith that sunspots cause warming even though the evidence is otherwise.
- They want us to to accept on faith that the increased levels of CO2 in the atmosphere will not cause warming even though 100 years of research and evidence suggest otherwise.

Again it seems to me the opposite is true. I find the AGW supporters usually appeal to reason and evidence. In my experience the deniers are more likely to engage in ad-hominem attacks and wacky conspiracy theories.
Who is being silenced? The fact that a small minority who are deniers continue to get so much press would seem to indicate the exact opposite.
Sometime you hear people complaining they can't get their anti-AGW papers published in scientific journals and they then claim there is some sort of conspiracy going on. But if you dig a little deeper you will find that the reason they aren't getting published is that the papers don't meet the minimum requirements for scientific research. Meanwhile media outlets like WND will continue to publish these ideas without any regards to their validity. So much for being "silenced."
