That is a huge list of peaks mighty impressive. The only mountains I think I achieved not on your list would be in the Tumbler Ridge Area when I was working there in 2009.

I got around to updating my list. 6 years in a row I've reached 50 or more new peaks per year and I finally got a peak starting with "X" even if it is unofficially named.

Your list would be more impressive if you added some quantitative and qualitative information. Altitude, elevation gain, degree of difficulty, for example.

How about a top 100 list of best climbs

Speaking of feet: you must have created a mountain of dead hiking boots. How many do you think that you have worn out?

What is your favourite brand and model?

I started off with Danner Boots way back and have gone through many other types since then. I really liked the comfort of Patagonia but they didn't last long (both pairs but I got the second pair for $100). Scarpa Kailash GTX were okay but started coming apart less than a year too and were getting uncomfortable on long hike/scrambles.

I've had Scarpa Terra GTX (full leather) for over a year now and they've held up well and are very comfortable.

Whoa, that's some list! When are you going to put out a "Simon's guide to hikes and scrambles"? I'd bet most of CT would buy it.

Testing a different photo upload. Got it to work in large size - Microsoft Edge didn't allow me to directly cut and paste a picture (either does Chrome) but I discovered I can use Explorer 11 on Windows 10 which does.


This was taken in Point Roberts at Lily Point Marine Park. Many eagles around there including juveniles that are entertaining to watch.
