Default SOLD: Rab Summit Extreme eVENT Shelter

Rab Summit Extreme eVENT Shelter $250

Awesome mountaineering shelter designed for Tomaz Humar for his Nanga Parbat alpine climb.
Super solid but light single wall shelter made out of eVENT fabric.
Has mosquito netting door so you can use it below the alpine as well.
Has 6 stake outs, 8 guy outs and 2 donut links (so you can remain roped in and secure while sleeping -- don't even have to run rope from your harness outside). 1 internal donut link at top and 1 external donut link on the side.

Quick and easy to set-up and take down in a storm. When its really crazy out I drape it over my body so my head is at the tunnel vent and my feet are at the entrance and then I install the 2 poles and, voila, the shelter is set up without getting snow or water in it.

Here's a photo of it packed up in its lightweight dry bag (30 cm ruler in foreground to give it perspective):

Photos of repairs. 1st is a floor patch. 2nd is a side wall patch.

Photo of it in action with the mosquito door below the alpine that I grabbed from the web:

Not quite sure if thats sarcasm (horrible medium to convey sarcasm). If not, yes the shelter is used -- check out the repairs. And yes, I admit it, I am a recovering gear *****. I go through a lot of equipment just to find the right combination(s) that suit my outdoor activities. I am still on the never-ending quest to find the holy grail of balance between weight, comfort, durability and safety. To make matters worse, my activities change over time along with my injuries. In addition, I find I need to test gear myself in order to find out if it suits my requirements and that sometimes means buying new/used gear only to find out that it does/doesn't work for my purposes.

If I had the cash I would probably still be a rampant gear ***** and keep a dragon's hoard of gear for those "rainy days" and for buddies who have really lame (i.e. crazy heavy) or no gear at all. But alas, I'm in the market for ID overbag/bivy in eVent and I'd rather put the proceeds of the Rab towards the ID bivy. I'm up for trades though if you've got the eVent ID overbag/bivy.
