Hey ChuckU, Trigger, and Trailflower....those are nice pics. I guess once the kids are a certain age, hiking becomes something that the whole family can do together.

Leatherman, you got that right! When the kids are very young, all your personal interests take a back seat to diapers, picture books, Barney, Charlotte Diamond etc. But when they get a little older - if you're lucky - they become your best reason to do the things that you love. I'm now hiking, backpacking, skiing, snow shoeing, skim boarding, riding, and running more than I have at any time since I was a teenager thanks to my kids.

Very Cool to see the kids hiking. I take my kids and they remember it for the rest of their lives. i especially like the shot of the three kids sleeping in the car. What a blessing they are.(till they wake up and want something totally unrealistic..hehehe)[

Hello to all you hikers,

I just found this website today, and wow! it's great to see so many other people sharing their enjoyment of the outdoors.

My son is 6 years old, and we'd love to have some company on some day trips or overnight camping trips.

Here's Sam on the stawamus chief in 2002

and on the lions trail last summer

Hi CanuckGurl,

I heard that someone climbed Baker at age 4 and Rainer at age 7.

I'm thrilled that Sam likes hiking; actually it's more like running through the woods then standing and panting to recuperate, then running some more. The lions was definitely a lot of fun.
