Default Easy trail for a 6 year old

Ok... my weekend plans got completely wiped out, so any hiking for me is gonna be with my 6 year old girl. I would like to do something a bit harder than a "mall walk" so Im asking here for anyones input on these trails Im considering:

Lindeman/Greendrop lakes
Stawamus Chief (I know, not much views, but looked at some pics of another post, looks like fun)
Tricouni meadows...
like too difficult? too easy to lose the trail?

or perhaps if anyone has suggestions ideas Id be most grateful, got cabin fever happening here... need help!!!

Hi Shadee!

You could consider going to Hollyburn Mountain... The view up there is really nice, and it is an easy hike, although harder than a walk in Stanley Park... It is not too long going up, and not too hard, so I guess your daughter will be able to do it. I often saw children on the trail.

I sometimes go there mid-week when I need to start hiking late. It usually takes me about 2 1/2 hours for the round-trip at a normal pace, with some leisure time on the summit. The trail is very well-marked. This is one of my favorite short hikes near Vancouver.

hey shadee.. so, did u ever take your daughter to do the chief? if so, how did she fare? what other local hikes have you taken her on? my daughter is almost 11 and my son 12.5 and i had thought that the chief would've been too hard for her..

I have taken both mine up the Chief. It is not that long you should be fine to get up there. The steps are a little far apart for their legs though. First time i took them up they complained about thier gut hurting. Same thing as doing lots of situps.
The third peak views are better, but a little farther.
On the way down watch out for slipping when it is wet it can be a little slipery. I think if i remember right it is only about 45 min up to first peak. Add about another 30 min for third. I could be off on those times though i don't realy check how long to do these hikes.
This is a great hike for kids mine always love to go there. Third peak
Third peak

On the way up
Hope this helps.

First peak

Canuckgirl
You should have no problem at all with your two.
I usualy stay the night at the bottom on this hike.
Go up saterday. Hike to the top and back down. Stay the night and head back on sunday.
This time of year you might have some ice or snow, but i don't know i have never done this other than summer.

To easy this one is listed as a walk.
I found this to short and not much to look at.
But okay to get out for a hour.

This time of year it could be okay.
I am not sure though don't rule it out.
My whiner did do 18km up to unnessesary on the Howe Sound trail. So i can't be to hard on her.[^]
We tried to make the Lions but it was a little to far.
I would like to do this one again.
