5 years go by....

In general May is too soon for Willmore. The lowland trails -- Mountain and Indian Trail out of Rock Lake, and the Berland River trails should be open, but wet by May, but I would expect there to still be snow in the woods from about 4500 feet and up. Lower on north facing slopes.

The particular trip: Eagle's Nest is a low pass, never getting above treeline. But most of the day trips from there go up.

You may be able to do the Wild Hay Ridge (Trail starts right behind the cabin near the Eagle's Nest Ford) That ridge top is in full sun, and is just above tree line.
